"A biographical register of Lincolnshire parish clergy. Taking the rural deaneries of the county in alphabetical order, it will list the succession of incumbents, parish by parish, with dates of institution and names of patrons. Where possible, a brief biographical sketch of the incumbent is attached. Little can be done in this regard for the great majority of medieval incumbents, but from the sixteenth century, when more sources become available, it has been the aim to provide basic information about birth, parentage, education, ordination, clerical career and date of death" -- Introduction, volume 1, page xxx.
