About This Book

A pleasant little book describing the topography of that area of Sussex which provided the setting for the later life and writings of Margaret Fairless Barber, especially 'The Roadmender''. This area stretches from New Shoreham on the coast to Cowfold in the north and takes in the villages of Shermanbury, Henfield, Ashurst (where Margaret Barber is buried) and Bramber. The book is well illustrated with line drawings by Duncan Moul.
