This book deals with medical facilities as health resorts, sanatoriums, alcoholic establishments and private nursing homes in Sweden, during the last decades of the 1800s to the present day, with emphasis on the period around 1900. It illustrates various theoretical and practical efforts to create beneficial health care, mainly through natural healing forces both within and outside of man.
