Private investigator Dana Leoni and her unlikely crew of misfit sleuths have their first paying case. A friend from Dana's past suspects his wealthy mother is being bilked in her efforts to help the homeless, and he turns to Dana because she knows this rough world so well. Dana falls in with a darkly charismatic volunteer who clouds her judgement and blinds her to potential danger.
