秋審案例

Qiushen (the Autumn Assizes or Trials) is the solemnest and the most rigorous institution of death penalty reveiw. It extracted the essence of the traditional Chinese decisions mechanism and fostered a system of precedents with distinctive attributes and functions. The surviving documents epitomize the various forms and progressive transformation of traditional Chinese decisons, revealing what makes a case, how to apply it and how to catalyze its correspondent "judicial interpretation". This whole set selected seven types that could be identified as cases, which are the most valuable reference for today's system of precedents.
