Teaching physical education in elementary schools

This book is first a presentation of physical education -- what it is and what its place should be in our rapidly changing world and educational system. Second, it is a source book of physical education activities for children in grades one through six. Third, it contains methods for teaching children through these activities, as well as directing the numerous sports, rhythms, dances, games, and activities that have been included. It has been written for three groups: (1) the specialized physical educator, (2) the classroom teacher, and (3) the college student who is professionally preparing to become an elementary teacher. - Preface.
