Il wit nel Tristram Shandy

This is a study of Laurence Sterne's "The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, gentleman", with regard to the writer's idea and use of wit, humour, and irony. It deals especially with the so-called "learned wit", the comic interpretation and parody of science and learning, and with Bachtin's notion of "dialogic novel".
