A stem dictionary of the English language

This book is an alphabetical list of mostly Latin bases and Greek combining forms for use in building vocabulary. The author has inserted footnotes for some of the entries that provide entertaining stories about words. In addition, the book also contains quotations in which example words for the bases and combining forms are illustrated. This book contains an outstanding compilation of word stems. In fact, it is so good that another publisher has more or less reprinted the book ans *Word Stems,* published by Soho Press, Inc.
