Anfore Puniche Dalle Necropoli Di Himera : (seconda Metà Del VII - Fine Del V Sec. A. C. )

The study of the 277 Punic amphorae found in the necropolis of Himera presented in this volume is the result of in-depth research carried out starting from the excavation data and through a careful analysis and classification of the individual containers, without neglecting the appropriate archaeometric and epigraphic analyzes. The possibility of crossing different elements, with often very precise chronological references thanks to the association with funerary objects, made it possible to go far beyond the preparation of a simple catalog, even if complete, returning an extraordinary complex of materials in their historical perspective and in the meaning of the framework of the archaic and classical Tyrrhenian trade.
