Aldo Paparella

Futuramic by Aldo Paparella (b. Buenos Aires 1958) features a collection of retro-futuristic black and white photographs of automobiles from the 1950's and 1960's and taken in Buenos Aires, Montevideo and La Habana over the course of many years (1993-2007), originally to complement another work still in progress. The images graphically document the effects of time in machines that have survived "past futures which have not happened, beyond the compulsive and persuasive utopias of automakers. Paparella's cars allow us to eavesdrop on the junk of capitalism, of which the auto industry is an emblem. "--Page [2].
