About This Book
In South Africa, both prior and post 1994, there have been efforts to establish agencies as part of a strategy to improve service delivery. Since 1994, there has been a proliferation of agencies established by various government departments both at national and provincial level. Many government departments seem to have found the establishment of agencies as one such model that could fast-track the delivery of services in an efficient and effective manner and this process is generally known as agencification.
