Many Americans, particularly the younger generation, are for the most part, unaware, or at least uninformed, about the terror and misery in which people existed in Europe during World War II. HIstory books have supplied data on military conquests, political maneuvers, and heroes of that era. But what of the millions of persons in cities, villages, and towns, who were merely engaged in living their lives? DARKNESS OVER EUROPE presents a cross-section of these people in Europe; they tell in their own words how they survived under the Nazi organization.
