Griechisches biographisches Archiv (GBA)

Consists of about 100,000 entries and covers about 70,000 individuals, dating from the 4th century AD to the present. The main focus is on the Byzantine Millenium (395-1453) and the time from the Greek War of Independence (1821-32) to the present day. Covers mainly Greece, Asia Minor, the Aegean Isles, and Southern Italy through the Byzantine Age, and, for later periods, the area of contemporary Greece.
