Bottom of the Line

This Irish zine explores the Black Lives Matter movement. The author includes basic information and terminology associated with discussions surrounding racism, privilege, and activism, in order to facilitate deeper conversations. The zine introduces the history and importance of the movement, racism and its systemic operations, and the functions of white privilege in this system. The author lists the names of Black people who have been killed by police and provides letters with useful advice for BIPOC and white readers. The white author includes the perspective of a Black woman who grew up in Ireland and definitions of terminology like activism and misogynoir. The final page also includes further resources for readers to learn more and a final hopeful message for allies and activists. — Nayla Delgado
