Fernando Pareja y Leidy Chávez

Leidy Chávez (b. Popayán, 1979) and Fernando Pareja (b. Popayán, 1984) have explored the mechanisms that gave rise to cinema, in which the simulation of the movement of a sequence of static images predominates, which generated a revolution society in Europe at the end of the 19th century. The fact that diverse elements, such as photography, sculpture, animation and digital media, dialogue in his work reaffirms the eclectic nature of contemporary Latin American art, with its multiple origins and its many paths traveled. Elements of Western art and pre-Hispanic art, as well as technology and dramaturgy, are combined in their works, as they have a strong theatrical temperament, which points to the troubled reality of the country and a poetic world of surrealist projections.
