The effect of mechanical and fluid inertia on the transient motionn of concentric cylinder viscometers

The author uses the method of lines to resolve the partial differental equations describing the motion of a fluid in the gap of a concentric cylinder viscometer.The effects of the fluid on the motion of the inner cylinder are predicted. The results are compared with the simplified case where fluid motion is ignored, and with experimental data.
