In a sequel to two earlier books about Medieval warfare, Santosuasso (emeritus history, U. of Western Ontario) covers the period from the end of the Roman Empire in the fifth century to the last stages of the Middle Ages in the 15th. He places the main changes in warfare and its motivations within their political, cultural, and social contexts. The chronology is arranged by country.
