Agriculture and animal husbandry

A large number of farmers in India depend on animal husbandry for their livelihood. They supply milk, meat, eggs, wool and hides, animals, mainly bullocks, and are the major source of power for both farmers and dryers. Animal husbandry plays an important role in the rural economy. The economic contribution of agriculture to India’s GDP is steadily declining with the country’s broad-based economic growth.
