A história capturada

The book deals with the history of São Luís between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, with photography as a privileged historical source for the construction of the narrative. From the analysis of the photographs from the album "Maranhão 1908," by photographer Gaudêncio Cunha, a dialogue between history and photography is established.
