The work addressed in this book studies the process of urban transformation that causes changes in the economic profile of cities, especially those that fall on service activities and restructuring in the means of production. More specifically, this work analyzes the intrinsic correlation between economic development and urban transformation, as to the factors that lead to investments in infrastructure aimed at easing cities with specific conditions, to support and expand their own economic bases and reverse the best use-fruit of wealth in improving quality of life for the population. In São Paulo, more specifically, the transformations were significant with a reflection on the city's production along the transition from coffee to industrial agriculture, from a park of multinational companies to the global city, contextualizing, in this work, the concepts involved in the process of construction and reconstruction of the city itself, with emphasis on the formation of new business centers, evidencing, in this process, the evolution of its road structure and urban mobility
