About This Book

D.J. Cederstrom participated in the Navy Department drilling of deep water wells at the Navy Mine Depot,
Yorktown, Virginia, during the early part of World War II and submitted foraminifera from cuttings collected
from these wells to Dr. Joseph A. Cushman for further identification. This report is one of the results of
cooperative investigations of the geology and ground water resources of the Coastal Plain of Virginia by the
United States and Virginia Geological Surveys.
