Children discover arithmetic

Dr Catherine Stern taught in a Montessori school and became interested in children's learning of arithmetic. She made structural apparatus for the children and found they could manage well with it. The concepts were thoroughly learned and later progress was rapid. This book is a reference for current thinking associated with the National Strategy mathematics in school
