Synopsis - When Captain John Dacre is killed fighting in Ireland, Mary Dacre is left a widow at twenty eight with four children. When she becomes the second wife of handsome and distinguished Edward Garnharm she is considered lucky. But Edward’s past has left him bitter, and Mary is disturbed by his deadly hatred of all Roman Catholics.
