About This Book

A biography of Henry de Laat (also found in web searches as Hendryk, Hendrik, Henrik, Henry, and once even Hank; last name de Laat, de Leet, Late, Laat, Leet, Let and –- in Google's accurate, but unfortunate, translation -– The Late Henry), an etcher and print-maker based in s'Hertogenbosche, North Brabant, The Netherlands, during the early 20th century. Most of his work concerned Dutch landscapes and cityscapes in his home town, and occasionally slightly further afield. Other works about him, all copiously illustrated, all in Dutch, are Met de tekenstift geboren [Born with a sketching tool] : Hendrik de Laat, een Bossche kunstenaar (1900-1980) / Author: Hoogbergen, Theo, 1926; and a career retrospective, Hendrik de Laat : 80 jaar (minimal publication information).
