About This Book
Back of title page: "This edition of Johnson's General History of the Pirates has been set by hand at the Cayme Press; it is strictly limited to 500 copies, 50 being for presentation & review."
I own this and it's 1927 volume II companion; both from the shelves of the Warner Brothers research library; complete with checkout cards and library tag. It measures roughly 9x11 inches.
It is a reprint of the third original edition by Captain Charles Johnson (1725), but omits the original preface and introduction. Though the book says it was published in 1925, it's actual year of publication was 1926. Bound in black cloth with gothic lettering in gilt on the binding edge, and a piece of eight on the cover in gilt.
