. In this book, Erol clashes with nature’s enemies in the Marmaris Forest. Subsequently, he travels to Germany to study. He reports what the people in these so-called modern countries have gained and what they have lost. In Kreuzberg Berlin he befriends his neighbor, a retiree who was formerly a boxer. With his encouragement, Erol once again enters the ring in Berlin and attains new success. But his achievements don’t bring happiness. Thus, he goes to the German Democratic Republic (Communist Germany), tells the readers the story of what the people there did with the Utopia of Karl Marx. Erol also sees his feathers trimmed as he falls in love with Angela a comely resident of the GDR. Because of his hopeless love with her finally he decides to smuggle Angela to Free Berlin although she was pregnant. He is shot there,at the Checkpoint Charlie, as if they were shooting at a rabid dog and has been dragged around all over the place. But Angela manages to flee to West Berlin. The judge sentences Erol to life imprisonment
After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 9th November 1989 Erol is free, tries to find his son and himself again going to Turkey. He still dreams of a system that seeks to align itself with the balance in nature and that respects other forms of life.
