In Mikikan-hei o otte, Imamura Shōhei travels to Malaysia to meet the former Japanese soldiers who did not return to Japan after the war was over (ca. 50 min.). Bubuan no kaizoku features people in the Philippines who are preyed upon by pirates (ca. 47 min.). Ore no Shimokita is an episode of the TV series, Tōku e ikitai, in which Imamura visits Shimokita Peninsula, where the sacred mountain of Osorezan is located (ca. 25 min.).
