Management techniques in riparian areas

The purpose of managing riparian areas is to achieve specific goals and objectives, which typically fall into one of four general management strategies: 1) maintenance of existing riparian conditions; 2) improvement of degraded riparian conditions; 3) recovery of lost riparian areas; 4) development of new riparian areas. This document is not a cookbook for riparian treatments, but rather a general technical overview.
