About This Book
Activity books designed to provide teachers of preschool- and kindergarten-aged children with special needs a wide range of instructional activities that span the five developmental domains found in most preschool and early childhood programs. It can also be used with early elementary-aged children who have significant developmental delays. The five domains correspond to those found in the Battelle Developmental Inventory (BDI). Instructional activities have been coordinated and arranged so that they parallel the skills assessed on the BDI. The five domain specific books each contain 40-50 instructional activities arranged developmentally by age. Very special times [2] is for teachers and provides more activities to be used at the beginning of the day, snacktime, storytime, and ending the day. Very special families [1] is for teachers and parents, providing newsletters, calendars, etc. to help teachers and parents work together.
