About This Book
Arthur Spalding looked up startled at as Mrs. White spoke to him: "these children," she said, "should be a great army trained to work for the Lord; they could finish God's work on this earth in a short time… You must speak to the children and the parents too. Yes, right for them. I feel God is calling you to this work."
Spalding kept those words of God's special servant ever in his mind. The words became to him "as a burning fire" in his bones, and is Jeremiah of old said, "I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay." This is the story of his life, consumed by that fire in his bones to instruct parents and children alike and to develop for his church and for his God a people ready to dare and do great things for a great cause.
As early as 1919 Spalding had formed a Mission Scouts organization and later became active in junior camp work. He was the founder and secretary of the home commission of the Gen. conference, and in his lifetime he authored 30 books.
