Having won a prize with this book, at age 18, at one of the most important literary competitions for Cuban youth in this decade, Amir Valle entered the arena of national literature as one of the most promising writers of Cuban narrative, basically, according to the Cuban critic and writer Francisco López Sacha, by establishing himself as a "rarity" in national story-telling.
