About This Book
Retrospective that brings together about 130 works of art created between 1987 and 2021, celebrating the 35 years of career of the artist Rosângela Rennó from Minas Gerais. The exhibition "Small ecology of the image" presents the main arguments that the artist developed around "expanded photography", which extrapolates the creation of author images and includes its technical and social processes. The exhibition comprises works of various languages, from photographs to collections, objects, installations and audiovisual works that will be distributed in three rooms on the fourth floor of Pinacoteca Estação, in the Region of Santa Iphigenia, in São Paulo. Despite the variety of supports, there is a direction for the way the artist observed and commented on a Brazilian historical imaginary and its persistence in the present. The exhibition organization abandons the chronology for a presentation based on the subjects dealt with persistently and recurrently during its trajectory.
