Oil paintings in public ownership in Bristol

This catalogue brings together over 2,300 oil paintings from 10 publicly-owned collections across Bristol. The largest collection reproduced is Bristol Museum and Art Gallery with over 1,200 paintings spanning Northern and Italian Renaissance painting, Baroque to modern French art, and British painting from the seventeenth century to the twenty-first. The collection tells the story of art in Bristol and internationally.
