Einheit, Arbeit, Wachsamkeit

Documents some of the approximately 16,000 Mozambicans who served as contract workers in former East Germany during the 1980s. A significant part of their wages was deducted and sent to Mozambique as pension payment; but the Mozambican government confiscated the workers' wage documentation and denied that such funds existed. Includes an interview with José Alfredo Cossa, leader of the group "Madgermanes", which continues to advocate for the former GDR workers.
