About This Book

Alfredo Nicolaiewsky (Porto Alegre, 1952) visual artist and professor at the UFRGS Institute of Arts, launches a book that is a first-person reflection developed at the Post-Doctorate at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (CAPES Scholarship) and also takes a retrospective look at his last years of activities. The title of the book refers to the research developed in Portugal: the previous production, and the resulting digital photographs, are listed in the prequel. The triptych, called A Ira de Deusʺ, has its origin in the narratives about the 1755 Lisbon earthquakeʺ, associated with the dramatic events of Portuguese life (such as the tsunami of the same year and the tragic fire of the 1988 Chiado). The triptych was followed by the series listed as sequelsʺ, a term that in Portugal is used in the precise sense of what comes after something; It is the presentation of this set that occupies most of this publication.
