About This Book

Maggie's sobs were masked by the thick, solid walls of the apartment complex. She sat with her head in her hands thinking of the days that had once been. The days when she had been truly happy and content, when she was with her husband. It had been many years since Maggie Smith had been with Scott, but today was especially difficult. Today was the anniversary of the Accident. Initial figures showed the death of almost one fifth of the male population. These deaths were largely due to transportation accidents, where the operators of the vehicles were male. There were many aircrafts that failed to reach their destinations due to the pilot and co-pilots gender and the sheer panic that grasped the rest of the population was never before seen. The bodies of all males were at first presumed deceased as they had stopped breathing, however random eye movement persisted and a worldwide rescue was put into effect hours after the tragedy. The work carried out by one Maggie Smith; some may say the hero of our time, was ground breaking. She discovered that the 'patients' where alive and in a state of prolonged sub consciousness. To the outside world they were both in a coma and in a cryogenic state, meaning that they would not age at all whilst the toxin was still in effect, but to them it would seem as though they were merely dreaming.Fifteen years have passed since Maggie first started looking for the Cure, and whilst she and the rest of her kind had aged the male population lay in wait. They lay in Storage, a reconditioned hangar, silent, never aging, for the day that the Cure would set them free. That day was soon to come but their freedom would need to be fought for as the newly appointed President of the United World, Lindsey Ann James, would not see men reclaim the Earth. After all, the women have since found that war, among other things, was a male futility. As the first man wakes what will come of him in this new and enhanced world, as he battles with new technology, religion, regime and slavery.
