About This Book

Dr. J. Gordon Bryson (1914 - 1986), a Texan who had retired from his medical practices, recalls his days as a student and a county doctor in Bastrop, Texas. When he arrived in Bastrop, his possessions were one hundred dollars, one gray horse and one wife. Hence the title.
An octogenarian at the time of this publishing, he reminisces with good-will, some wickedness, and a good share of self-satisfaction.
