Biography

<b><a href="http://www.shimer.edu/presidentelect/">Susan E. Henking</a></b> (b. 1955) is an American scholar of religious and LGBT studies, and the 14th president of <a href="http://shimer.edu">Shimer College in Chicago</a>. She holds a BA from Duke University, and an MA and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago Divinity School. Prior to becoming president of Shimer, she <a href="http://academic.hws.edu/relstud/henking.html">taught</a> at Hobart and William Smith Colleges for more than 20 years, also holding <a href="http://www.shimer.edu/PresidentElect/CV.cfm">numerous</a> administrative positions. In addition to authoring innumerable popular and scholarly articles in various fields, she has coedited two major edited volumes in religious studies, <i>Que(e)rying Religion: A Critical Anthology</i> (1997) and <i>Mourning Religion</i> (2008).
