Poem: My Life as an African American

My life as an African American is confusing, using and abusing of my blackness and ignoring my whiteness. My life as an African American is different from my father and my mother. I feel ignored, frustrated, set apart from my black and white race.
My Life as an African American make me kindred to the slave-master and the slave. Half of me is opressed. How can I come between my blackness and whiteness and make them understand that my past, present, and future is affected by their choices.
