Growing up in the 50s and 60s in the American south, I experience a number of things both delightful and troubling. Many of the short stories in Cheese Grits come from those days. One recurring theme is a child's confusion over the teachings of southern religion intermixed with the conflicting actions of segregation and racism.
Extreme Restoration is a massive 700+ page book on the period correct restoration of antique American clocks. In is the compilation of hundreds of notes and photographed accumulated over a number of years spent studying and restoring American clocks from the 1800s.
Saving the World and other useful skills is a Si-Fi novel that takes a Stranger-in-a-Strange-Land view of our world, society and religion beliefs. It is also a story about two individuals brought together in an awkward situation who come depend on one another and more. It is intended as a humorous yet sobering novel.
