A. Ahad

Abdul Ahad is an astronomer/SF writer. Author of the First Ark to Alpha Centauri dilogy of novels. He's also had short stories published in two anthologies as of 07/14/2011. Amongst his many celestial discoveries, Ahad is noted for identifying the supergiant variable star 119 Tauri (CE Tauri) to be the second reddest naked-eye star in the whole night sky. Upon first being overwhelmed by the jewel-like color intensity of this star one evening in April 2004, he coined it the "Ruby Star".
