Biography

Dr. Thierry Lardinoit is a Professor of Marketing at the École Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales (ESSEC), Cergy, France. His areas of expertise are sports marketing and consumer behaviour. He holds a Ph.D. in Kinesiology and Physical Education from the Université de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, and he is graduated in Management et Gestion of this same University. He has published books and articles in several academic journals, and he coordinates the French adaptation of Kotler and Armstrong’s textbook *Marketing: an Introduction*. He was a member of the scientific committee of the Revue de la Société française de management du sport, member of the editorial committee of the International Sport Marketing and Sponsorship Review, and member of the Association française du marketing. He is the founder of the ESSEC Sports Marketing international Chair, of which he was the Professor for over 15 years, as well as creator and pedagogical manager of the Mastère Sport, Management et Stratégie d’entreprise. He was one of the founding members of the Trophées Sporsora of Marketing Sportif and of the INSEP’s Carrefours de la Performance. Thierry was previously a professional volleyball player. He is today responsible for ESSEC's integration of high-level athletes into all of the School's programs.
