Anglo-Irish scholar, theologian, historian and controversial writer, born at Dublin. Father of [Henry Dodwell the younger][1], and the writer William Dodwell (1709-1785).
Dodwell was 1788-91 "Praelector" for history at Camden University of Oxford.
