Biography

**José Baroja** is a Chilean writer and the literary pseudonym of Ramón Mauricio González Gutiérrez, born in 1983 in Valdivia, Chile. He began writing during his adolescence in Maipú, Santiago; his “Barojian” pseudonym would later become associated with the city of Lebu.
He holds both a BA and an MA in Literature from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and is a co-founder of the literary magazine Sudras y Parias® in Chile. His books have been published in Chile, Mexico, Spain, and Argentina, and his work has appeared in anthologies in both Spanish and English, as well as in specialized literary journals. Among his recent titles are E*l curioso caso de la sombra que murió como un recuerd*o, *El lado oscuro de la sombra y otros ladridos*, *No fue un catorce de febrero y otros cuentos*, and *Sueño en Guadalajara y otros cuentos*.
Since 2018, he has lived in Guadalajara, Mexico, with his wife, the Mexican writer Leyda Mariscal.
