Biography
Dr. Peter Rizzi was a pioneer of microwave engineering.
He earned his B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and both his Masters and Doctorate from Yale University where he was a Fortescue Fellow. He began his career in Ferrite Components at the Raytheon Company and then in Solid-State Devices at the Ewen-Knight Corporation. He then co-founded Microwave Technology which became part of Alpha Industries where he served as Vice President. Later Dr. Rizzi joined the faculty in Electrical Engineering at UMass Dartmouth where he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Microwave Engineering. He wrote the textbook Microwave Engineering | Passive Circuits which has been translated into several languages and used in universities around the world. Dr. Rizzi was a proud member of IEEE, ASEE, Sigma Xi, Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu.
