Biography
Harry Joseph Heltman took his undergraduate work at Syracuse University, followed by advanced study at Harvard, Columbia, Ohio State University, and American University.
He has served as Professor of Speech at Ot-terbein College, Cazenovia Seminary, Franklin College (Ohio), and as Director of the Syracuse University School of Speech and Dramatic Art. He founded the Syracuse University Speech Clinic and directed its activities for many years.
He began to write on speech and allied subjects in 1931, and has produced books, magazine articles, manuals, and handbooks, including *First Aids for Stutterers* and *Handbook for Remedial Speech*. He is co-author of the choral-reading anthologies, *Let's-Read-Together Poems*, published by Row, Peterson, and *Choral Reading for Worship and Inspiration*, published by Westminster Press.
