Biography

Born in village urapar,district nawanshehar (Doaba) of Punjab in india , Kamaljit singh was the 5th son of Sardar Beant Singh and Harbans kaur , a family dependent on farming. Struggling with school fee and the work at farms, he completed his B.A. Honours from Sikh National College,Banga and Journolism Degree from Punjabi Uni., patiala. He Lived in Europe From 1980-1988, mostly at germany.
Currently, he is working with The Tribune Group of newspapers as Senior Journolist and is known for his investigative stories. He has also been awarded the Prestigious 'Shiromani Patarkar Puraskar' for his pathbreaking work in Punjabi Journalism.
He edited his first book of short stories 'Jammdiyan Soolan' at the age of 18 and is the author of 'Saade Pendu Bache ate Maavan' , which a thesis on Mothers and children's health condition in villages.
His articles regulary get published in the Punjabi Tribune and are appreciated by many.
