Biography
Arnfinn Bø-Rygg, born in Stavanger, Norway, is an art historian. He had his piano debut in 1960 and went on to complete a music degree as a piano teacher from the Stavanger Music Conservatory in 1967. He received his MA in Philosophy in 1975 at the University of Oslo with a thesis on the aesthetics of Adorno and Benjamin. He was an associate professor in aesthetic disciplines at Rogaland Regional College/Stavanger College, professor in Aesthetics at Stavanger College, and is presently a professor in Aesthetics at University of Oslo, Dept. of Musicology.
Bø-Rygg has taught art theory at the Art Academy of Oslo, Art History at the University of Bergen, and architectural theory and aesthetics at NTNU, Trondheim. He has been a visiting professor at the Institute of Literature, University of Copenhagen and lectured and taught at Nordic Universities; Humboldt University, Berlin; and Centre franco-norvégienne in Paris.
Bø-Rygg has coauthored books with Paul Brand and Stein Rønning titled *Paul Brand, Arnfinn Bø-Rygg, Stein Rønning* (2006), with Kjersti Bale titled *From Baumgarten to Rancière* (2008), and with Trond Berg Eriksen titled *From Plato to Diderot* (2012).
