Biography
She was born on August 3, 1929 in Lincoln, NE to Orval & Margery (North) McDonald.
She was the first of two children. Janet’s greatest love was her family, and she enjoyed staying involved in their lives more than anything. She loved sharing and hearing stories about past and present family adventures. To her family, she was the most beloved mother and grandmother in the world. She was also a published author, co-owner of Lesoings’ Truck & Radiator, collector of antiques, and lover of old movies and musicals. She shared her creative gifts with all those whose lives she touched, whether it was making flower arrangements for weddings, scrapbooking, sewing and creating handmade Barbie doll clothes or santas, painting gourds, or decorating for the holidays to name a few. She loved the Mother’s Day tradition of having her family plant flowers in her brightly colored pots and watching them grow and bloom all season long. She always kept her numerous candy jars filled with sweets which is one of many special memories her grandchildren will remember.
