Adam Marian Czartkowski

Polish botanist, historian of culture, secret political journalist (Gdansk 1931-1939), editor, professor and educator, after Second World War dean of Pharmaceutical Faculty of Academy of Medicine in Lodz. He was author of a biography of Szczesny Potocki, Princess of Lowicz, Fryderyk Chopin (7 editions, 1958 - 2012) and Ludwig van Beethoven. He had publish many articles about historical personalities, especially the great poet Cyprian Norwid of whom he discovered some poems and letters.
